This session focuses on advanced technological and numerical methods for the structural diagnostics and prognostics of aerospace composite structures, including hybrid configurations, as well as on the development of advanced material systems, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and circularity. The scope includes innovative design approaches, advanced inspection techniques, structural health monitoring (SHM) systems, experimental testing, numerical simulations, development of novel materials and manufacturing processes. The overall objective is to overcome the limitations of traditional design approaches and the critical issues associated with composite structures, addressing the key challenges in design, manufacturing, and sustainability, seeking to fully exploit the advantages and potential of composite and hybrid structural materials.
